Hi,
I'm trying to model two objects sliding over each other within two blocks, that shear off at a certain load (roughly drawn up in attached screenshot).
I'm currently using an axial connector between two nodes on the objects, that I've set to be oriented towards the global Z axis, with connector stop and failure behaviours.
*ELEMENT, TYPE=CONN3D2, ELSET=STOPBREAKCON 1,1,2 *ORIENTATION, SYSTEM=RECTANGULAR, NAME=Z-AXIS 0.,0.,1., 0.,1.,0. *CONNECTOR SECTION, ELSET=STOPBREAKCON, BEHAVIOR=STOPBREAKBEHAVIOR AXIAL Z-AXIS *CONNECTOR BEHAVIOR, NAME=STOPBREAKBEHAVIOR *CONNECTOR CONSTITUTIVE REFERENCE 0 *CONNECTOR STOP, COMPONENT=1 -10,5 *CONNECTOR FAILURE, COMPONENT=1 ,,-1000,1000 *CONNECTOR FRICTION, COMPONENT=1, CONTACT FORCE=2 *FRICTION 0.3
The model isn't getting past the first iteration, and I've got it to solve without the connector so I know the issue is in here somewhere, can anyone tell me what I've done wrong to set up the connector or if there's a better way to model this interaction?
Thank you
