Abaqus - Abaqus/Standard 2020 vs Abaqus/Standard 2022.HF2

Hello All,

I have a model, with primarily composite shell elements, running a *STATIC step with *NLGEOM=YES. The model runs successfully in Abaqus/Standard 2020. The same input file however throws an error in Abaqus/Standard 2022.HF2. The following is displayed in the .msg file for the 2022.HF2 run:

DISP. CORRECTION TOO LARGE COMPARED TO DISP. INCREMENT

ROTATION CORRECTION TOO LARGE COMPARED TO ROTATION INCREMENT

COMPATIBILITY ERRORS:

TYPE NUMBER EXCEEDING TOLERANCE MAXIMUM ERROR IN ELEMENT
COUPLING DISPLACEMENT 0 -1.384E-12 388950
COUPLING ROTATION 0 4.355E-13 388950

***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED UNLIKELY.

***ERROR: TIME INCREMENT REQUIRED IS LESS THAN THE MINIMUM SPECIFIED

***ERROR: THE ANALYSIS HAS BEEN TERMINATED DUE TO PREVIOUS ERRORS. ALL OUTPUT REQUESTS HAVE BEEN WRITTEN FOR THE LAST CONVERGED INCREMENT.

I believe I understand the reason for the error and how to resolve it. But my question is, why would it complete in 2020? I don't have any custom environment variables or anything effecting the solver for either 2020 or 2022. Any ideas?

Thanks!
