Hi,

i am using Abaqus CAE on several versions. I am always trying to use the latest ones (2025HF6 at the moment). But for some of our internal tools we need to use older versions as they can only read these ODBs.

One of our tools uses Abaqus 6.12 or 6.14. Unfortunately all tool owners are retired since a decade now. Which was never a problem. Until we recently switched to Windows 11. On my laptop - which was boosted to Windows 11 from Windows 10 - everything still seems to work fine. I can use Abaqus 6-14 CAE and I can run calculations. The laptop has "just" 32gb of Ram, so for large coupled frequency calculations, we have our big workstation, which is also pretty new.

The large workstation was delivered with "fresh" Windows 11, no pre-installed Windows 10 and no pre-installed Abaqus versions.

I was able to install Abaqus down to 6.12, CAE works fine. But i cannot run any calculations on Abaqus older than 2020. I get a strange error called:

Run standard.exe dbghelp.dll not found in PATH2/16/2026 4:22:05 PM Abaqus Error: The executable standard.exe aborted with system error code 1073741795.

I cross-checked all the paths, they seem to be right. I have gone through some things with chatgpt, suggesting to put the dll from my laptop to the abaqua/code/bin folder and things like that, no success.

Is there anything I can do?
