Is Strategic Mine Planner applicable for coal, and how does it communicate with stratigraphic geological models?

Coal often requires variable block sizes, which can be an issue because SMP and Pit Optimizer currently use regular block sizes, similar to Whittle.

Support for variable block sizes is expected next year, around July.
Stratigraphic models often have very small blocks, which can be challenging. In those cases Minex is the recommended solution. Regularizing the blocks can also make SMP workable.
