Branches do offer a great option for managing and driving design alternatives in development process. For 3D objects, this works really fine and I can create several branches and lead back single alternatives into my main stem for revision control. But when creating branches also from drawings, the option "New revision from" is not available and I do not get a branch back into the main stem as a valid revision. For sure, design opportunities do mainly occur in 3D design process and are used to compare different variants inside the context but I do also see some approaches to do the same for drawing > e.g. requesting a number of supplier with dedicated drawing representations and the drawing of the chosen supplier will step back as revision to the main stem while the other drawings remain as documentation of request process.

Is the "New revision from" option also intended for a future FD for drawings?
