Hello,
Sometimes it looks like there are too much restrictions posed on Enovia tool than any other PLM (engineering) tool using special characters in schema. Remember that, it is adviced not to use most of the special characters in schema including type, attribute and dimension (as per program guid and DS support).
We have scenarios where we need to represent SI/Metric units as part of dimensions which should appear within reports which has to be delivered to cusomer in standard format. Also some attributes have special character like \\\$ and #. But the restrictions on system is making it very hard manage them. Especially on the unit of measures (Dimensions), where most of the greek letters are used in Engineering formulae and equations.
How could one differentiate a superscrit 3 in 'meter raised to 3' (m3) from subscript 2 in empirical formulae of water H2O?
There are more examples like Dia symbol (Ø), tolerance symbol (±) etc which are not allowed in schema names.
Any thoughts on how this could be handled in Enovia?
Best Regards, Sudhin
