Selecting "Options" in "Driving Criteria" - Model Definition widget

Hello.

I am performing the Product Manager courses that are available on 3DS Companion and, when making new rules for Product Configurations, one has to define "Driving Criteria" and "Driven Criteria".

I found out that one, when configuring "Driving Criteria" has to choose a "Variant", not being able to choose an "Option". I confirmed that this behaviour is as designed (see the "Define the driving criteria option in https://help.3ds.com/2024x/English/DSDoc/XmodUserMap/xmod-t-matrix-rule-create.htm?contextscope=cloud&id=19219001e1e848efb7311955e8c727ae ). However, I have a use case that makes me wonder about this:

Let's imagine one is configuring a specific car, and the client can choose a rear spoiler for his vehicle. He can choose between 2 different spoilers that the dealer offers. The spoiler is an "Option", because the client can choose not to have it. However, if client chooses a particular spoiler for the car, he can't choose the other one, because obviously he can't have 2 different rear spoilers at the same time in the same vehicle.

With that said, wouldn't this be a case where it could make sense to have an "Option" as a "Driving Criteria", or am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance,
Pedro Delgado
