I have created the hypothetical data set below:
Figure1: Data Model
Figure 2: Customer requests and the relationship between MVs, MPs, and units
Objective:
To send to ERP the filtered (100%) MBOMs for Customer #3 ((Unit #7, Unit #8 = MP B), (Unit #9 = MP C)).Problem Statement:
I am unable to save a filtered MBOM (100%) on 3DX in order to send to ERP.
Today I am aware of two methods, but both do not satisfy our need.
Method No.1: Using Insert Product Configuration
In this method, a new root node is created under the PPR, then we select the option “Insert Predecessor”, then “Product Configuration”, as can be seen in the figure below:
Figure 3: Insert Product Configuration
However, the issue with this method is that it allows you to filter the “Product Configuration” by Model Version, but referring back to “Figure 2”, Customer #3 has 2 Manufacturing Plans (MP B, and MP C), so filtering by product configuration does not yield a 100% MBOM, but rather an MBOM with both MP B and MP C, which shows (Assembly #3, Assembly #4, and Assembly #5) (refer to Figure 1).
b. Method No.2: Filtering PPR Context in Mfg. Context Builder
In this method, the PPR is filtered with the Mfg. Context Builder using Units (see figure below).
Figure 4: Filter PPR by unit
This method successfully works in filtering for 100% MBOM. However, the issue with this method is that I am unable to save the filtered MBOM, because when I re-open the PPR again, I get the 150% MBOM rather than the filtered 100% MBOM.
Note: our 3DX version is R2022x HotFix 6
