Help Understanding Offline Licensing/Offline Working in V6R2013x

Hello,

Having just upgraded our PLM Express environment to V6R2013x, wondered if anybody is able to help provide some advice on the Offline Working/Offline Licensing functions available in V6R2013x. I am a little confused having been through the documentation.

Under VPM Collaborative Platform > Virtual Product Modelling > V6 Fundamentals > Working Offline, the section describes a “Work Offline” switch in the PLM Access menu. The “Enovia VPM On-The-Go” add-on product doesn’t appear to be mentioned anywhere in the documentation as a prerequisite to using Offline Working, but as I don’t have the “Work Offline” switch available in my Rich Client > PLM Access menus, I assume I will need this product (VND) to be able to use it?

In the DS Licensing Essentials > Enabling Offline Licensing section, it mentions 3 scenarios when enabling offline licensing:

  • Both Enovia V6 Server and Rich Client Products installed on Laptop – You can extract all Licenses including server. Working totally in a mobile context.
  • Install just Rich Client Licenses on Laptop – Allowing you to connect to the Enovia Server remotely.
  • Extract an offline license for 3DLive use on Laptop without needing to be connected to Enovia Server.

Is Offline Licensing a separate capability from Offline Working - Can the three Offline Licensing scenarios above be used without the “Enovia VPM On-The-Go” add-on Product or is this required?

Any help much appreciated,

Andrew.
