Dear all, in my company we are currently manually defining attributes for each commodity. I am listing a few to give you an idea
- Resins
- Packaging (Box, Pallets, lids, Bags, Packaging foam etc)
- Screws, bolts, nuts
- Wire Harnesses
- Cable Ties
- PCBs and PCBAs
- Coatings (potting & powder)
- Tapes
- IML films
- Paint Compounds
We are managing to define them internally starting from the biggest commodities (Electronics is complete). The scope is to aid the material selection process done by engineers and to avoid duplicating inventory. But as you can imagine it is a very long process to read text books, get information from engineers and finally customizing the attributes per class. Consider the fact that not all the commodities have a unique Manufacturing Part Number. Is there a Dassault OOTB classification attribute system we can use with ranges & parameters already pre-defined? We are using OnPrem but maybe we can 'copy' something from the cloud.
