Hi,
what is the strategy from Dassault for the attribute "title" especially in combination with the enterprise item number. What information should be inserted in the attribute "Title". What is good practice or the intention of Dassault?
At first sight I assumed that the attribute "Title" is used for the naming of the part, like "HOUSING", "BUSH" or "BOLT"; and the enterprise item number is used to define a unique identifier. In my company, such a unique number is usually the "partnumber" of the part. It is user defined (e.g 123-4567) and is used in the whole engineering, documentation and even the manufacturing process.
I would understand this strategy, in case I would not use CATIA V5 with PowerBy and the corresponding mapping functionality.
OOTB CATIA V5 "Partnumber" is mapped to 3DX attribute "Title" and this mapping not adjustable. Means that our current unique identfier "Partnumber" in CATIA V5 is automatically mapped to 3DX attribute "Title":
Is this mapping between V5 and 3DExperience intentional? It seems to be confusing.
Can you advise with a good strategy how to deal with the attributes in V5 in combination with 3DExperience Enovia in terms of Partnumber (V5), enterprise item number and title.
Thank you!
Florian
