I have been doing some routine data cleanup and noticed that certain changes, such as modifying the collaborative space, cannot be performed while the data is locked by another user. As a leader, I can unlock the data and then lock it under my own account to make the necessary changes. However, I would like the ability to reassign the lock back to the original user once my updates are complete.
Is there a reason why admins or leaders cannot lock data on behalf of a specific user?
This capability would be especially useful when a user leaves the company, either permanently or temporarily (for example, due to illness), so their locked data can be reassigned to someone else. In my case, it would also allow me to make minor updates without permanently taking ownership of the lock.
What workflows or best practices do others use to handle this situation with the current system capabilities?
