After I had created a number of drawings, during editing of these drawings and trying to save them, my system stated that these were write protected. I dont see why as I am the only design engineer on site and using Draftsight. I have found a fix, more by trial and error. I did check to make sure the DWL files had been deleted, also made sure the Read only was disabled, plus to display all hidden files.

The fix is to save the file with the original name in a new folder, preferably one or two folders up the root directory. Then either close Draftsight or remove this drawing from the draftsight page. Reopen the same drawing from the new folder and then save it back in the proper location, weird I know but it works for me.
