After updating to DS 2016 (see ds1.jpg) inserted image files that contain white are now transparent when printed to pdf and annoyingly show the drawing behind them. In previous versions, the image laid on top of the drawing and wasn't transparent.
I don't know how I would turn that type of setting on even if I wanted to, let alone why it was like that by default.
I use customer logos and product information in jpg (or png, same transparency result) and want to turn this transparency effect/problem off.
Attached is ds2-4 that show examples of this. ds2 is in DS and doesn't show any transprancy. ds3 shows the transparency when printed to pdf. ds4 tries a png above the jpg; same result.
Interestingly, when I print to the PDF within DS, it works. No transparency. But I use PDFill so that I can print multiple pdf pages (ie. 4 page drawings that zoom in on detail). (Can I do this with the built-in pdf?? that would work)
There is a "print transparency" button in "Additional Options" in the print screen, but it was off and turning it on/off does nothing. JPG files do not contain any transparency information though, so this looks like an all out bug, or a setting I should be able to turn off I would think.
