Should I always model in 1:1 scale and achieve required drawing view scales when drawing views are created?
I'm new to DraftSight (DS) but have many years experience with AutoCAD, Cadkey, and Solid Edge. In the past I have always modeled everything 1:1 and achieved different draft view scales when drawings were created -- at the time when a view is placed an option is available to specify scale. Is this how DS works?
Another part of this strategy concern is about the relationship between DS Model environment and the Draft sheets I need. I like to control an assembly with a single layout from which all else is generated. If I model the layout views, do I then have to use parts of the layout in new DS files that make all the drawings? Without any associativity built in, I need a good strategy to generate a full set of fabrication and assembly drawings to document a product.
What is the best product documentation strategy to follow with DS?
