When I bring a dxf in from 3ds max, some of my extruded objects are turned into trace elements in DS.

I do not know what a trace entity is, and as it is not brought in as a 3D solid, as an extruded rectangle

drawn in DS would be. I can not do 3D dimensioning on my objects.

If I can find out what a trace is, I can further  elaborate on the problems of dimensioning in 3D

from imported 3D Studio MAX objects are.
