The SolidWorks toolset for 2D drawings is extremely limited.
SW2012 doesn't want you to bring a 2D drawing mindset into creating sketches, because it will usually get you in trouble.
Therefor, a robust feature-set of 2D tools hasn't been developed for sketch mode.
Ex: Can't mirror text objects at all. Can't divide a line into equal segments (I know, split entities, equal relations, PITA), Can't provide a mouse supplied distance for Feature Manager.
Numerous other examples escape me, at the moment.
Needless to say, layout and creation of a 2D sheet border and title-block takes three to four times longer than it should.
I have a layer in SW2012 I use to control the thickness/ color of my borderline and titleline.
I have used each of the 9 formats below as direct block inserts (layer 0) to SW2012 and then exploded them inside the sheet format.
I then take the appropriate objects and drop them onto the correct layers but they DO NOT reflect the layer linetype or color.
The text DOES reflect the layer color.
Has anyone else run into this problem, and is there a work around?
