I get unreadable dimensions when I print.The lines are washed out (too thin or grayscale?)

OS: Linux (Ubuntu 11.04 64bit and 10.10 32bit)

Printer: HP Laserjet 3015 Black and white all-in-one laser using hpcups PCL3.
