_UIMODE IN LION

We appreciate the full window functionallity in the update but then the toolbars cant be pulled to the top and remain floating leave an unusable strip on top of the drawing which when you apply a zoom there is an area of the drawing that is obscured by the toolbars or floating tool matrix.

 Is there a way to reestablish  the _UIMODE with fixed toolbars in LION which allows for vertical toolbars which in our view allows for a better workspace and also docking of the toolbars which allows for a two monitor configuration and easier UI configuration? Seems it is gone and we think it is a great loss since allows for a better interface.
