After three weeks of messing with it I finally found a solution to my "The program must close" issue, and it does relate to the graphics card. I have a dedicated graphics card but it's ports are mini Displayport so I plugged my monitors into the motherboard which has built in graphics and full sized displayports. I assumed that this did not matter because this is how my setup has been since first installing draftsight 2019 months ago. To test it, though, I decided to buy two mini adapters and plugged my monitors directly into my graphics card and rebooted. Now draftsight is working normally again. I assume that draftsight has been looking to the built in card and crashing. I suppose there is some software workaround I could have done to avoid having to buy adapters but that's beyond my know how, and draftsight does not have any help on this issue from what I could find. For those of you who are having this same issue I would suggest making sure that you are plugged directly into your graphics card and see if that fixes it. Either way, this issue seems to be related to some kind of issue with graphics cards or drivers. I hope this helps.
