DS works differently from AC when selecting text in Paperspace that is on top of a viewport.  In AC, if you double click on the text, you can edit it directly.  It works the same whether the text is over a viewport or not.  In DS, if you double click anywhere over a viewport, it will open the viewport.  So you can only edit text by right clicking and selecting Edit Text, a much more long winded way of doing it.

Does anyone else find this irritating?  I will also try submitting this as an enhancement but it would have more welly if it was more than just me wanting it.
