Hi! I am struggling to get the software to draft in the way I need. In AutoCAD it was possible to draw a parallel line of a set length by clicking the start point, highlighting the object to be referenced, activating the guide line and typing the length of the line. This would draw a parallel line of the required length parallel to the referenced object. Draftsight does not seem to work the same as the line shoots off in a random direction and at a random length! 

Also it was possible to draw lines perpendicular to a referenced object by clicking on the end point and 'dragging out' a perpendicular line. Again Draftsight does not seem to do this. 

Any help would be welcomed!
