Random location jump & zoom change returning from layer isolation

I am working with complex drawings prepared by others having dozens of layers and using Layer Isolation at significant zoom-in to do drawing clean-up and change assignment of objects to layers.  Layer isolation works as documented.  Good. Now, I return from Isolation mode by Un-isolate.  My expectation is that the other visible layers will paint in to the view and that neither view center location on the drawing nor zoom level will change.  That would be good so I can inspect my changes for desired effect.  Instead, the view center jumps to a random drawing location and at a somewhat lesser but otherwise seeming random zoom level.  Now I have to zoom out, re-orient, then find where I was working and zoom-in to inspect that the changes I made show as intended.  Over and over and over and over... [insert screaming at DS here].

Is the random jump on return from Layer Isolate intended behavior?
