I'm trying do do something which must be very simple and is what I do effortlessly in my constraint based 2D drafting program.
I draw a line. Select the line tool again and click on the perpendicular snap button. Click on the line I've drew and another perpendicular line appears. I can drag this perpendicular line about but it will not snap to end nodes or the centre node of the original line.
An Autocad user says this cannot be done, I must first draw the perpendicular line at any position. Then afterwards move it to the position I want, then adjust it's length.
Well after drawing the perpendicular line I can drag it via its centre node but cannot get the end points of the two lines to snap together. I cannot drag the end point of the perpendicular line because then the perpendicular condition is lost. When dragging via the centre node I can get it (ie the centre node) to snap to the end node of the original line but that's not what I want.
Esnaps is on, and end and mid points is ticked in settings.
This has got to be simple, could anyone tell me what I'm overlooking, I'm getting to the point of dumping Draftsight for SolidEdge2D which so far I've found to be light years ahead in ease of use. For some reason though I just want to learn the "Autocad world" too, and see if there's advantages to both styles of 2D sketching.
Thanks,
Keith.
