This is not a one time occurrence. I think it happens every time.  So, I get an existing DWG and all of the text throughout the drawings, every room name, everything in the title block, everything in a table, various fonts, extends beyond its original bounds.  I am reasonably sure, after several investigations that the text width is too wide, globally.  At first I though it might be the space between letters, but it isn't.

What am I doing wrong or how do I fix it?
