I proceed as follows:
> Create a text document (RTF) in Libre Office and save it for re-use.
> Open a DraftSight (DS) drawing.
> Insert the document into DS from file without linking and without “display as icon” set.
My expectations:
Without “display as icon” set I expect to see a copy of my document displayed within DS.
With it set I expect to see just the icon in my drawing that allows the original document to be opened.
Without linking set I expect the copy of my document in the drawing to NOT change after it was first displayed in the drawing even if I later changed the original.
With linking set I expect the copy of my document in the drawing to update after any change I later make to the original.
Instead, I see just an icon that links to the document externally no matter what combination of “linking” and “display icon” settings I use.
This appears to be a long-standing problem. When will it be fixed?
