This problem has been since my last installation of DS, and remains after I installed it again. The symptom is: the pointer (system default, white arrow with black edge) behaves normal in all other areas -- menus, bars, property pane, command pane -- but becomes invisible when moved to the black drawing area. The pointer function is there: when it hovers over elements, the element gets highlighted; when drawing lines, you can see the beginning and ending point of the line; when selecting smart dimension, the square pointer shows up. But after exiting to normal status, the pointer disappears.
My system is WindowsXPSP3, which is not supported now, but I think this problem is not related to XP. Version V1R4 can run on XPSP3, so most system at that time should have no such problem. I searched and found the most suggestion to this is to update the video driver, which I also think irrelevant, for I have already updated my video driver to latest (and the last version), and since the video card was widely used at that time, I think most others should behave OK. The video card and driver information:
Video Chipset: Intel GMA X3100

Also DirectX 9.0c DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleration test is OK.
Is there any other direction should I search?
