Hi Everybody, 

I am hoping someone can help me deal with a few issues that are causing me problems. I have been running darftsight standard on my old computer for 2 years with no major problems. My level CAD experience is basic but for the 2d cad I need for work to create manufacturing drawings for the factory I can now get by easily. Until my computer started struggling with the programme and running extremely slow. 

So IT have now issued me with a new computer and I have swapped the licence for draftsight standard onto this computer. Now I am trying to work through the same processes and they are not operating the same. I have looked through old forums but nothing appears to be the same format and issue that I am having. Any help would be appreciated. 

It is worth noting that I do not use the command window at any point.  I have learnt through trial and error and mainly use the icons for all processes.

1. On my old computer when I draw a line .  I just click the line tool > Click a spot on the page>Then type a dimension and press enter. This would draw the line at the dim. stated. On my new computer nothing happens when i do this. 

2. To draw a rectangle. I would click on the rectangle tool> again click a location on the page> Then press "D" > enter> type 1st dimension> enter>type second dimension> enter..  Now I can click the icon and locate the starting point on the page, but it does not do anything when i enter the dimensions.

3. The offset tool. Previously I would click the icon> type the offset i wanted say 100mm>enter> click the line to offset> click the side of the line I wanted to offset to. job done.  Then if I wanted to do another offset then I would follow the same process. Now i do the same and the offset works correctly the first time, but then on any offset I carry out after it seems to add my previous offset to the new offset dimension I have typed in.  E.g. 1st offset is 35mm then second is 50mm . The second would not come out at 50mm it would be larger. 

So to carry out all the drawings I have to do I have to keep swapping back onto my old computer which runs slow to get my work done and then come back to try to figure out the issue on the new one. Randomly sometimes occasionaly it actually does what I want it to do, but mostly not.  So I am stuck in limbo between the two computers until I work out what I am missing. 

Any ideas for me to try would be a great help.
