Hello DraftSight community,
I'm an educational user of DraftSight (I'm halfway through my studies as an Industrial Designer) and it has become an essential tool in my Linux based design workflow (GIMP+Inkscape+DraftSight+Simplify3D). DraftSight 2017 runs like a dream in my main machine (i5+intel graphics) with Debian 9.
However, I have a specific issue I need to address regarding your product. I have a legacy netbook which I refurbished to use as a backup machine. Since it is a quite old computer, I had to install an older Linux distribution on it, namely Ubuntu 12.04, due to the GPU being unsupported on newer kernel and Xorg versions.
The thing is, DraftSight 2017 requires at least Ubuntu 14.04 which is not compatible with this machine. I tried installing an older release of DraftSight (2014), which should run fine on Ubuntu 12.04, but after activation I get an error box saying "This product has expired". I know for a fact that besides this expiration, DraftSight 2014 should run properly on this old machine.
Is there any way to enable these older versions to run, or maybe download older DraftSight releases from your site?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards from Argentina,
Alejandro
