Why can you not access and/or create named model space views from model space within a layout viewport?

I recently submitted a comment to the 'official' response to a similar question posed about 4 1/2 years ago. I am shocked that so obvious a deficit to the usability of this product has not been dealt with in subsequent releases of DrafSight (as promised in the response). If there are any plans to do so, I would be willing to recommend adoption of DraftSight Professional for our CAD staff.

Otherwise I see no advantages to updating from our 'ancient' version of AutoCAD LT other than the ability to read current dwg versions. But we can and do use Autodesk's DWG TrueView (free) to convert newer drawings that are sent to us into a format we can read with our old software. For that matter we can use the free version of DrafSight for the same purpose.

I like DraftSight, having sampled (both the free and) the trial of the Professional version, but I cannot see making a commitment to buying the few seats we need if there is no obvious intent to 'fix' the product that is currently being released.
