repeating request on the same issue in accordance with your suggestion in the email dated 04/20/2012 01:03:29PM
OS : Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit version ( i386 ) Kernel Linux 3.0.0-12-generic GNOME 3.2.1
DraftSight : V1R1.4
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
PROBLEM :
after minimizing/maximizing DraftSight window once or twice
The most part of the menu items became unavailable or say menu is frozen
I tried what you recommended in your email 04/17/2012
" -Can you retest the behavior with DraftSight default settings. For that : Close DraftSight, browse to location: Users\\user\\.config\\DraftSight\\1.2.xxx\\Profiles\\__unnamed profile__ Right click the profile.xml and Rename it to profile_backup.xml (or something similar) Restart DraftSight. Retest the issue. If problem still occurs, delete newly created ‘profile.xml’ file and please rename the old (profile_backup) back to ' profile'. -Try uninstall and reinstall of DraftSight and see if the problem persist. "
with no effect - issue persists
reinstalling the soft ( with the aid of 'dpkg install' command ) I was prompted to install libdirectfb-extra which was done
having reinstalled DraftSight I installed also libxcb-render-util0 (just in case )
and now the same is the situation as it was depicted previously
PS : starting with the "plastique" parameter as it is advised on some forums
do not resolve the issue
TEMPORARY PALLIATIVE :
1. You should never minimize window - I find it to be quite tolerable inconvenience
and it works well
2.if you accidentally minimize/maximize the window and the menu is frozen , a remedy will be to close the current drawing window via 'close' button , save a work , open the drawing again and then be careful ( see point 1 )
best regards
Vitus
