Hello,
I have come across the problem with using a Mask in a Block to hide what is underneath the Block. I am trying to use DraftSight to make changes and additions to pre-designed Floor Plans and it is a real problem if my Blocks don`t hide what is below them. I have seen this problem mentioned in other posts and I am curious if there has been a work around found yet (or fix)?
I`ve used the ¨create the mask first, then the block components after¨ technique and that gets me by for a while, but as soon as I want to make a unique change to a Block by ¨Exploding¨ it (no Dynamic Block options in DraftSight) I find that its a roll of the dice as to how DraftSight will react. Sometimes all works out well, other times my SimpleNote in the Block will disappear behind the mask, or my solid color Fill vanishes, or something else goes wrong. Not to mention how the Display Order commands are useless with Masks, no effect.
But the weirdest thing is that not all of my matching blocks react the same. If I have 15 of the same Blocks out there and then I BlockEdit one of them, 5 of will look correct after the edit, 3 will lose their color (or half their color) and the rest will lose their text. Tweaky
Am I asking too much of DraftSight? My boss is looking for results I seem to be fighting bugs for hours. Is it time for a \\\$1500 seat of AutoCAD LT??
