I normally use DS to make simple edits on electrical schematics; very basic stuff. Lately I have decided to build a house and want to make my own plans to submit to the bank for a construction loan. I watched this video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLV3gWl01-o) on using DS for architectural drawings but when I tried doing the same thing, my lines were so long they went off the page. Also if I drew a line for one foot and then applied a dimension line, they didn't match. I scrapped everything, made a new template and then the dimension line of one foot matched the line I drew as one foot; the only problem now is one foot line takes up half the width of the page, which I set the drawing boundary as a ANSI size D. How can I repeat what I saw in the video and make a 53' line that will not go light years off the page into a galaxy far, far, away?
