Does anyone know how to save and restore saved layer settings ?

My question regards existing files : Saving by name some layers on/off  or freezed / thawed and with specific linetype Properties......and being able to  restore this state with a click of a button from a list of saved layer states......as I was able to in Autocad-with the express menu.

The Layer Tools Toolbar allows restoring only the previous state.....
