Large Factory Layout File Freezes and Crashes

I have a multiple Factory layout file from AutoCAD with multiple blocks of Machinery, pipelines, electric diagrams, HVAC diagrams, etc. These files most often exceed 80 MB file size and take up to 4 gigs of RAM when running. When I run these on Machine 1 DraftSight crashes when trying to navigate through the drawing. Also it takes 2-5 minutes to open the files in DraftSight and a lot of .SHX files are missing. I can run these files in AutoCAD on Machine 1 with no issues besides taking 1-2 minutes of opening time. Once opened in AutoCAD I can navigate just fine. I ran these programs on a different machine, Machine 2 with much more RAM to test. Load time is still significantly higher in DraftSight than AutoCAD. But with the higher RAM I can navigate through the drawing in DraftSight with barely any lag. The drawings usually take about 4 gigs of RAM for both AutoCAD and DraftSight on both machines. I understand than Machine one is pegging out on RAM and that is the fatal flaw of Machine 1.

Machine 1

Windows 7 - 64 BIT

i5 Dual Core Processor, Nvidia Quadro FX 1800M, 4 GIG RAM.

DraftSight 2015 SP2: Enterprise

Machine 2

Windows 7 - 64 BIT

i7 Quad Core processor, Nvidia Quadro K2000, 16 GIG RAM

DraftSight 2015 SP2: Enterprise

My end question is, why does DraftSight have such a hard time running the large files on Machine 1 versus AutoCAD when using the same resources? I was under the impression that DraftSight is a lighter weight program than AutoCAD and required less to run than AutoCAD. I figured that DraftSight would load better in these circumstances than AutoCAD seeing that it required less resources than AutoCAD.

Thank you,
