I am running version V1R5 under Linux Mint 15, 64bit. I deduce that checkboxes ought to be appearing next to items, but they do not show (although I can 'select' them). I attach a screen shot of part of the Drafting Options dialog.

Also, the currently selected information in dialogs disappears, and I attach a screen shot of part of the Smart Select dialog to illustrate this (the top item should read 'LineColor')

Is this a known problem? What can I try?
