I have not had a satisfactory solution to resolving Error Message 1320: 'The specified path is too long'  which was submitted 2 weeks ago, and am still unable to install DraftSight  on my pc, which has a Windows 8.1 operating system

The solution that has been suggested by DraftSight  is 'moving / re-naming the 'Application Data' to another location'. This cannot be performed with Windows 8.1 and, in any event, is something that is not recommended by Microsoft who state 'Microsoft don't recommend moving, deleting or making any changes to files  or folders in the AppData folder. Doing so could make your application run poorly or stop working entirely'.

Is this issue something that can be resolved by DraftSight?
