Install problems

This is more of an observation than a question.

I have been trying for several days to get DraftSight installed on my Windows 7laptop.

I keep getting the unable to access the Application Data folder error.

None of the suggestions I have found here or on the Microsoft site have helped.

But in searching for a solution, it seems to me that DraftSight has quite a large number of issues with installation.

From what I have seen of DraftSight I think I will like its user interface better than DoubleCAD which I installed without a hitch. The UI on DoubleCAD does not seem as clean to me as DraftSight.

I might even consider trying to install an old version of DesignCad 2D that I have used for years and find it really easy to use.  I find DesignCAD much easier and quicker to use than DoubleCAD, but DesignCAD 2D is not an AutoCAD LT clone.  I find that DesignCAD is easier to use because you don't seem to have to switch between the mouse and keyboard as often.  And the most frequently used tools are easier to get to.

I am still trying to get DraftSight installed because it looks like a program that I will prefer (next to DesignCAD).  I just hope that when I do get the install issues cleared up, that I am not slammed with a bunch of other Windows 7 issues.  If I do experience more issues, I will give up on DraftSight.

But such is life.
