Before deinstalling DraftSight it is very important that you disable the license on the current machine. This way you will be able to activate on a new machine/ or upgraded machine. If the license has not been deactivated before installing the license will be stuck on the old machine and you will need to get in touch with SOLIDWORKS Customer Center, so the license can transferred manually.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Open DraftSight on the machine that needs replacement.
2. Go to Help/ Deactivate DraftSight…
-> The Product Activation dialog opens. Follow the instructions on screen

Once DraftSight is deactivated on the old machine it can be activated on the new machine. We also recommend to deactivate the license before rebuilding (e.g. new motherboard) or upgrading machines (e.g from Win7 to Win10).
