I am using Draftsight 2018 - 2D

I am trying to draft an aluminium boat which includes aluminium sheets that are 6mm, 4mm and 3mm thick. When drafting, am I expected to capture the aluminium sheet thickness, i.e. as a 3D element or just the outer extremities?
