Hi,
I am really confused about sheet size, margins, and printing from the sheet view. I can see from questions here and on the internet that I am not the first to be confused about this, but I have not yet seen a clear answers on the subject, other than that maybe the sheet size in the sheet view cannot be changed, which seems rather unbelievable to me.
I've searched the internet, looked for answers, and watched many tutorial videos trying unravel this, but am still confused. And I am far from stupid.
Here's what I don't understand:
1. What does the white rectangle in the sheet view signify? Paper size? If so, how can I choose different paper sizes?
2. How can the size of the white rectangle be changed? Even if the design of the program is to scale this white rectangle to the print paper, one still needs to work with an aspect ratio that is representative.
3. What does the dotted rectangle within the white rectangle signifiy? Printable area? How can this be changed?
In my case, I cannot get sensible PDF output from my sheets. The print preview reflects this mangled PDF output. In contrast, the print preview using a real printer looks closer to correct (yet it is still not completely correct).
Unless I can understand how the sheet view is designed relative to paper size, margins, etc., I cannot understand how it might be deviating from its intended function. Overall, this seems to be an oddly dysfunctional part of Draftsight, at least in terms of documentation.
Thanks for any help in advance! Sheet mode seems like a great idea if it can only be made to work properly and is properly documented.
