Folder Redirection over WAN links causes DraftSight to start up very slowly.

Hi

Most of our user accounts under Active Directory have Folder Redirection enabled. In context of DraftSight, it means that AppData folder has been redirected to a UNC share on central servers.

This however causes DraftSight to start up very slowly on remote sites. For example with VDSL2 10Mb/5Mb link and IPSec tunnel with total average latency of 25-30ms causes DraftSight to start up for about 10 minutes. On site near servers, the latency is <1ms and DraftSight starts up under 30 seconds that is moreless the same as using user accounts without Folder Redirection. For most other applications, Folder Redirection has very little effect on application performance.

When startup is complete, DraftSight works normally. User however has to be careful not to close DraftSight or one has to wait out for 10 minutes again.

It seems that DraftSight is reading it's configuration files from AppData very inefficiently, with a lot of roundtrips  that cause startup time to to increase expodentially with slow links. This is appararent when being disconnected from network. This causes Folder Redirection to use locally cached copy of AppData and startup times return to normal only to slow down when reconnected to network.

I can provide some log files for debugging if so required.
