I have been using V1R4.0 trouble free for about a month now.  That came to an abrupt end when I fiddled with my print style configurations last week.  Henceforth, attempting to print to PDF or otherwise either crashed the program or the process crept along for several minutes under the specter of the "Beach Ball of Death".  Several clean installs later I was experiencing intermittent success with various files, but the program was still not performing as it had been.

After several lengthy searches (SwYm search function is a worthless POS, BTW), I came across this post, which seemed to most accurately describe what I was experiencing:

For an example, I create a new note using the Arial font.  Selecting and attempting to move that note results in behavior described in the above post.  However, if I change the font from Arial to a font with a .shx suffix, the problem goes away (refer to Bill Pelletier's post on 2010-08-24 in the above post).

This is the third version of DS that I have used on this same computer and have never experienced this problem before.  What gives?
