We use DS Standard 2020 SP3 x64 on several workstations. Recently my machine will no longer display the DraftSight program interface. I'm running Windows 10 Pro (21H1) with Feature Pack 120.2212.4170 if this helps.
-Issue: DraftSight appears in the taskbar and task manager, but no part of the program can actually be viewed.
-I want to distinguish this issue from another issue where the program will run, the interface is visible, but the drawing area is blank, or open drawings will not display - this is not the symptom I'm dealing with
-No changes to hardware, No changes to display drivers have occurred in the time from of this issue.
-Rebooting did not resolve the issue.
-Right clicking the DS Icon in taskbar then selecting close causes DS to crash, and then displays the "send feedback" dialog. The data was sent but it's not safe to assume I'll ever hear anything back through that route.
-I don't see a modify/repair option from Windows Add/Remove Software otherwise I'd try that.
-Normally I would re-install the software but I have concerns of whether I can use or port the standard license to the latest version of DraftSight - Can I do this without expecting issues with license?
Needless to say I'm not being productive and I'm getting kicked back here for help.
For what it's worth I tried to upload the most recent logs in %appdata%\\Roaming\\DraftSight\\CIP Logs but this support interface complains about trying to upload xml files even when I selected "Document" from the filter toolbar at the top when I tried to "Add Media". This is frustrating to the point of madness.
For what it's worth at this point. This is the first few lines of a _crashinfo.xml file
It would be nice to get someone else to weigh in on what I can try.
