Below is a copy/paste from an earlier post of someone with the same problem as me:

"When I open DraftSight everything opens, but the main drawing screen is frozen. The pointer can be hovered all over everything except the main window. Any advice?"

System: Windows 10 with latest service pack, problem seems to have started after latest Windows update
