What is needed in order to set up and my line so that they set to be metric

I did go through what I thought was the correct procedure in Options and Drafting settings but my lines come out in inches. Yes I had made to set the "Apply" button before exiting too.

Can I a check list for setting my units.

My little model would only be about 27 mm long by 12 mm high, then maybe make it 3D too
