DraftSight Won't print or takes 59 seconds to load the plotter dialog box

Draft sight takes 59 sec. to 1 min. 15 sec. to call up the plotter dialog box.  Why?

I have had so many problems with printing, on my laptop that I have uninstalled DraftSight 4 times and reinstalled it 5 times.

After uninstalling, I searched the Registry and deleated all refference to DraftSight.

After installing, I did not get the default settings, but rather the cusomized settings created when DraftSight was installed.

Now DraftSight will not print.  Selecting Print locks up the system and I have to "End Task" to get out..

How do I clear DraftSight, compleetly, from my laptop, so I can start a new install?

I have done all that was indicated in the answer and found that each time I installed DraftSight, After uninstalling, deleeting the folders and clearing the registry of any refference to DraftSight, The software keeps coming up with the same preferences as those of the previous instalation.

My printer issue, I have determined is with the type of printer used.  On my laptop, I use a printer share to my desk top computer, to an HP office Jet 6000 printer, connected by a "Virtual USB connection".  This is how the USB printer definition is caslled out.  With the printer share set as my default printer, and an autocad drawing open, it takes 1 min. 9 sec. for the dialog box to come up.  Change the default printer to a network printer, and with the same drawing open, it takes 13 sec. for the dialog box to come up.  I am not sure if it is the printer share or the USB connection which is slowing the dialog box.  Changing the default printer on my desktop, from the USB printer to the same network printer improves the time to the dialog box from 27 sec. to 12 sec.

I am instituting a workaround, by changing the Default printer, before I start DraftSight, to a network printer.  Many of the printers currently being offered for sale, are USB connected.  The Printer description of "Virtual USB Connection" is used, because you do not have the direct handshaking associated with a printer connected to a parralell port or through the network.

For DraftSight to be a Viable piece of Software, for use by Solidworks Customers, DraftSight needs to be much more Printer Friendly.
