DraftSight vs. SolidWorks for schematics?

I'm a scientist who uses CAD fairly often, but not all the time.

I have never used AutoCAD --- I went from Anvil to Inventor to SolidWorks.  I have a full SolidWorks license.

So, here's my question: I'm starting a new project where I have to do some essentially 2D designs, basically electrical schematics.  I know it's possible to do such drawings in SolidWorks.  I'm used to working in SolidWorks and am comfortable producing models and drawings in SolidWorks, but I was in the process of learning how to do 2D drawings in SolidWorks when I ran across the DraftSight ad on the side of my SolidWorks screen.  Is it worth it to me to learn DraftSight, or should I stick with the 2D capabilities in SolidWorks?
