I have a file that was probably created in AutoCAD. When I open the file (in either AutoCAD or Draftsight) I get an error message (shape file not found) followed by another error message (One or more externally referenced documents could not be loaded.) and then I have the drawing open and ready to use. I can make changes and save them but any time I try to print or make changes to the layout print settings the program crashes. I have tried to remove objects that reference the missing shape but cannot. I just want to be able to use the file in Draftsight so I don't have to keep using an old Windows XP machine to use our AutoCAD 2008 software to print.
