the physical printout is always a few mm less than it should be. I printed a square 50mm by 50 mm and the edges print as 47mm. 

I have confirmed that 'fit to paper size' is unchecked and the scale is set to 1:1 in both the printer configuration file and the viewport.

I'm not sure what's going on and it is driving me a little crazy :)
